Well it’s happened.

Here at Lake of the Ozarks, people both dread and welcome this time of year.  The boating and summer season has come to a close, yet the change brings a whole new magic to the lake area.

The fall and holiday seasons are great times of the year to be at Lake of the Ozarks. With 11 different species of trees, the fall colors ignite the water and sky in beautiful mosaics. This seems to meld right into the holidays, and another popular part of life at the Lake of the Ozarks.

It seems shopping is a constant, from large retail outlets to the quaintest of shops. This time of year seems to put an emphasis on shopping, and not just in the traditional sense.

The Lake area is home to many retailers and is anchored by the Premium Outlets that boasts more than 110 stores and shops. Another appealing element is the atmosphere. You get the “shop small” feeling of specialty and boutique type stores that are very abundant in the area.

From the Bagnell Dam Strip in Lake Ozark to Osage Beach, Camdenton and the West Side you find a very wide array of shops that really bring in a feeling of that small town, park-the-car-and-walk sensation.

The candy and fudge shops are second to none and the sheer variety of sampler shops, clothiers, and specialty stores keeps you busy all day.

So this whole day of shopping has got you hungry right? Well you are in the right place, as many unique shopping venues as Lake of the Ozarks features, there are just as many restaurants, cafés, and eateries to satisfy and renew everyone in your group.

In any area of Lake of the Ozarks you can find pizzerias, sandwich, soup, and salad places, barbeque, and good ol’ down-home cookin’. Again the atmosphere in many of these one of a kind stops is as good as the food.

I would be remiss not to mention the Black Friday events happening around the Lake of the Ozarks. It seems the shopping extravaganza begins the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and does not slow down until the Monday after. Book a stay at one the Lake area’s many accommodations and you have a home base for the whole weekend.

Enjoy a unique shopping experience at beautiful Lake of the Ozarks. Please visit FunLake.com for information on all activities and attractions mentioned above – and many more.
