It’s a great time to begin your holiday shopping in Springfield.

Christmas is only how many days away? That means it’s time to get busy… busy shopping, that is.

When it comes to holiday shopping, look no further than Springfield, where you find well-known stores along with unique mom-and-pop shops to help you pile the presents under the tree.

First stop is Battlefield Mall, where more than 150 retailers offer the latest fashions, gadgets and gifts. Conveniently located under one roof, the stores at Battlefield Mall are the place to begin your holiday shopping excursion.

If you have an outdoor enthusiast who wants fishing, hunting, camping gear, or other outdoor gear, you can’t go wrong at Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World. The store in Springfield is the first and largest Bass Pro in the nation. With a four-story waterfall, huge aquariums, an art gallery and other fun things to see and do, it’s an entertaining adventure as well as a place to find the right gifts to wrap in tinsel and gold.

Find a sweet treat at Askinosie Chocolate.

The hobbyists, metal workers and carpenters on your list will be easy to please with a stop at Grizzly Industrial. The second-largest machinery showroom in the world, this huge store is the place to get tools, saws, metalworking machines, etc. While there, enjoy the live demonstrations, woodworking samples and a display of more than 10,000 tools.

The cowgirls and cowboys on your list will be dreaming of gifts from PFI Town, which includes PFI Western Store, Saddle City and Diamond Ridge Market. At PFI Western Store, a huge selection of more than 15,000 pairs of boots, western clothing and accessories will please the fashionistas. Saddle City has hundreds of saddles and all the tack horse-lovers need. While you’re there, drop in at Diamond Ridge Market to sample cheese and wine.

Along with the big shops, there are hundreds of unique stores throughout the city. Here’s a small sample:
